I've decided to update my blog here. It's only been 8 years since my last entry! I've never been good at keeping a journal up-to-date, and as expected, my blog has gone neglected for far too long (unfortunately!). I've been in business since 2013. These past 9 years have been such a whirlwind of craziness, ups and down, highs and lows.

Each year around Christmas things get crazy. This year is no different, but earlier this year, my business has the added factor of moving from Arizona to South Carolina back in April and May. This put the Mother's Day orders a bit behind where I wanted them to be, but I am finally done with orders for customers whose milk was received in May and June. After Mother's Day our orders trickle off every year, so I am able to get through the months following Mother's Day (especially those after July) much quicker. In the past month, I've created stones for, completed, and shipped jewelry to over 150 mothers. All of this in ONE MONTH. This is unprecedented for me, but I wanted to get my wait time down for my customers and give myself a little breathing room so that I'm not so busy around Christmas time! Even with this mad rush I've been doing, I'm still a little behind. I'm working on orders from July to September currently. (I try complete them in order, but sometimes I am waiting on the shipment of a setting or something that prevents the completion of that order and I have to wait until it comes in to complete it). ...Click for Part 2!

Still, 150 orders

in a month is astonishing if I do say so myself (and I do!). =&91; I've heard

lots of complaints from my family about how much I work, and I've

promised them that I am "almost done" with catching up. I'm determined!

I've been working on orders so quickly that my poor husband, who has

been recruited to help me ship things, can't keep up! This next batch we

have going out has maybe 50 orders or so going out to happy mommas

in time for Christmas. So, that's how it's been going here! For as long as I can remember I've loved sketching ideas, drawing, sculpting, painting, and eventually got into logo and graphic design, and crocheting. My love for art ran the deepest, though, with jewelry. I love creating beautiful, wearable things! To choose my company name for Indigo Willow I combined two of my favorite things--my favorite color indigo and one of my favorite trees, the willow. Both of these meant peace and happiness to me, just as breastfeeding my little one does.

A little about me:

I'm a Registered Nurse turned stay at home mom and childbirth educator.

I've been an advocate of breastfeeding and breast milk's healing and nutritive properties since the birth of my little one. I've enjoyed our breastfeeding journey for the past two years. It's been a long and bumpy road. I've had supply issues and dealt with soreness from a super-hungry wee one. I'm truly thankful that I have been able to continue breastfeeding despite my struggles with it.
